  • Electric duo and energy

Youthful radio station Yarona FM has announced that Radio presenters Mdu Tha Party and Kedi Molosiwa will be the hosts for the 7th Yarona FM Music Awards (YAMAS) that will take place in September.

The announcement of the two hosts came at a time when several people were still guessing who could be hosting this year event.

“Every year we make it a point to select high flying presenters from the station to host the event, we would like to believe that Mdu Tha Party and Molosiwa earned it this time around due to the amazing work that they are doing on radio. The station has confidence that the pair will do a great job during the awards ceremony night and they both have rich experience in hosting events of such a magnitude,” said Yarona FM Station Manager Kelly Ramputswa- Tlale.

The duo is expected to bring some electrifying energy on stage which will leave the audience yearning for more. Both presenters are no strangers on the YAMAS stage, Molosiwa previously co-hosted the event last year while Mdu Tha Party has previously won an award. Respectively the two have interesting shows which have a huge following, Mdu Tha Party hosts Power To The People while Molosiwa hosts the Shud Up And Drive the afternoon drive show.

The event has been previously hosted by talented presenters such as Dollar Mac, Tshepang “Dj Izzy” Motsisi, Loungo ‘King Bee’ Pitse and South African celebrity Bonang Matheba who came in as a guest host.

For the second year in a row, the event will be live-streamed due to COVID- 19 protocols to adhere to social distancing regulations.

The YAMAS have become the most prestigious and sought-after music accolade in the country and in the time of Covid-19 and the current social distancing norms, the party has moved from live audience venues to be streamed on multimedia platforms. Under the theme Future Culture the YAMAS will be having a variety of categories lined up with every winner walking away with an award and prize money.
