In the modern digital world, social media reach is power – and money.

Tamil Business Warriors (TBW) is aware of this effective medium of reaching out to people and is on the lookout for the person who has the biggest footprint across the entire social media universe including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

TBW, a business network organisation initially formed by Tamil business owners but with membership open to all, irrespective of language, race, gender or religion, believes the immense impact of social media on business growth and success cannot be ignored.

Thus, TBW has embarked on a campaign to assist entrepreneurs to fully exploit the power of social media by attracting as many social media influencers as possible to enter a competition with prize-money of R100 000 cash to find the Most Influential Influencer.

TBW has partnered with Woodmark Events SA to help promote the live concert by South Indian singing sensation Sid Sriram at the Durban ICC Arena on Saturday 17 June 2023. Ticket sales go live from 25 March 2023 for one of the most eagerly anticipated musical events in recent years.

Participants in the Most Influential Influencer contest must produce inspiring, insightful, and captivating content and subsequently build a substantive fan base within a time limit. Participants will have to engage in research pertaining to Sid Sriram and the forthcoming

Reagan Moodley of Woodmark Events SA said the contest is intended to demonstrate the power of social media on new and uncharted markets.
“Sid Sriram is a household brand throughout the South Indian diaspora. However, in South Africa, South Indian music is a niche market.

“A social media influencer has established credibility within a certain niche. This person then uses this authority to connect with a large audience on various social platforms, creating a massive marketplace for products and services.

“In a novel exercise, we want to harness the power of social media influencers to reach the thousands of fans of Sid Sriram,” said Moodley, adding the competition also gives the youth and rookie social media users an opportunity to participate, with the possibility of a first-time influencer producing a post or reel that goes viral and walking away with the R100 000 prize.

Participants in the Most Influential Influencer contest will be scored by using the following criteria; number and quality of posts’ views, likes, and shares.
Competition entries opened on 10 March 2023 and will close on 30 April 2023. The winner will be chosen after all scores as of 27 May 2023 are counted.
