A First For Africa: Zee World’s, Kellogg’s Dance Africa Dance Like Never Before!

From roaring success in India to inevitable greatness in Singapore, now we have expended our horizons even further to the continent of Africa. We say hello, you say dance and together we say yes. It’s time for Dance Africa Dance.

Zee Entertainment’s popular General Entertainment Channel Zee World (DStv Channel 166) will be keeping its viewers glued to their seats and screens with a dance show like no other.  Kellogg’s Dance Africa Dance, Zee World’s first reality dance competition in Africa, will premiere on Saturday, 18 September 2021. With 10 African Teams competing with one another for an ultimate dance challenge over 13 weeks, the show aims to uncover the continent’s best dance team!

Zee World has been a forerunner in redefining entertainment across Africa over the years. Be it in showcasing the first Afro-Indian Telenovela (Mehek) in 2018 till the first inter-country fusion dance challenge (Dance Africa Dance) in 2021, Zee World over the years has evolved into a brand of global celebration bringing Africa and India together. The show promises a fusion of Afro-Bolly dance moves uniting both cultures through music, vibrancy, colour and diversity.

Kellogg’s Dance Africa Dance is an expression of dance that transcends all barriers and boundaries and, in this Afro-Indian explosion there will be two dance champions: one Team and one Solo winner. 

Post evaluating entries from more than 28 countries, the series will showcase Top 10 dance teams representing 10 African countries from Sub-Sahara Africa, including Botswana.  Each team to perform every week on pre-assigned themes and compete against each other for judges’ points.  There is also a solo performance (Dance-off) at the end of every episode and the team receiving the lowest combined totals will be eliminated until there is one remaining champion at the end of the 13 weeks!

The Kellogg’s Dance Arica Dance champion will walk away with cash prizes, reputed brand of appliances and gift hampers! 

Host for the Season: Pacou Mutombo

Born in Congo and raised in South Africa, Pacou Mutombo is a well-known dancer, actor and choreographer. He has featured in shows such as The Voice Nigeria, The Voice South Africa and The Voice Afrique Francophone.

Resident Judge: Krsna-Priya Dasa


Born in India, the land of enchantment, and raised in South Africa known as the melting pot of diversity, Krsna-Priya has had the best of both worlds which was reinforced with her mother being from India and father from Italy.

She is a professional Indian classical dancer who has also won prestigious pageants like ZEE TV Miss India South Africa and Miss India Worldwide.

Resident Judge: Paul Modjadji

Paul Modjadji: is a South African entrepreneur, a creative, performing artist and a passionate social developer with a keen interest in Youth Development.
He was the first African dancer to win the European Star Dance Union World Dance Champion title, in the Jazz category (2011), a recipient of the South African Youth Award for Arts and Entertainment category (2012) and a recipient of the Global Young Leaders Award from the Global Youth Leadership Congress in Washington DC. Paul also scored top adult dancer accolade at the 2013 Talent America Showcase, in the USA.

Dance Mentors/Choreographers


Sashin Kandhai
: Choreographer par excellence, dancer and actor Sashin was born in Durban, South Africa. He was the winner competitions such as Bollyshake Bajirao Mastani Dance Championship in 2015, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa South Africa (2016) and Dance Deewane Johannesburg (2018). Sashin has shared the stage with Bollywood superstars Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra and Madhuri Dixit and choreographed for productions on Netflix.

Courtnae Paul:Entertainment powerhouse Courtnae’ Paul is a choreographer, DJ, RJ and b-girl. Having just won the South African b-girl final, this 2024 Olympic contender has also just released her new single. She has worked internationally in several countries and is now a choreographer on Dance Africa Dance.Resident DJ: DJ Dalootz: Homegrown talent Dayo Morris also known as DJ Dalootz hails from Pretoria, South Africa. He has held residencies at The Village Mamelodi, Stones & Blue Room Hatfield and C4 in Johannesburg. DJ Dalootz has rocked 1000s of people with his full spectrum music ranging from House to Kwaito to Baccadi including Hip-Hop and RnB.
