23 November 2021, Gaborone, Botswana. On the 22nd of November 2021, alongside the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development and Botswana Housing Corporation, MultiChoice Botswana participated in a watershed donation to the Botswana Men’s 4×4 Relay Team. Setting an African record, these 4 young men, and their support team, brought home a bronze medal at the recently held Tokyo 2020 Olympics and were gifted brand new fully furnished apartments complete with brand new DStv decoders and subscriptions as a Token of Appreciation.

When giving the Keynote Speech at the Hand-Over ceremony, Honourable Minister Tumisang Rakgare, Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development passionately commented, “During the games in July and August this year, we were united, and we all spoke the same language as our athletes performed at the Olympics. We stayed up at odd hours of the night to not only watch our athletes live but to also cheer them on from our homes. It was almost as if we had forgotten that we were still affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. That is the power of sport. At the recently held Tokyo2020 Olympics which were broadcast live on SuperSport, Isaac Makwala, Baboloki Thebe, Zibani Ngozi, and Bayapo Ndori did not only bring home a Bronze medal, but also set a an African record by being the first African team to win a medal in this category since 2004.
