Major Moves Comedy is proud to announce an exciting night of live stand-up comedy as acclaimed South African comedian Sifiso Nene brings his Because of Success Tour to Gaborone on Thursday, 3 September 2026 at Nuestra Casa Molapo Crossing.
Sifiso Nene, one of South Africa’s best-known comedy personalities, is renowned for his energetic storytelling, observational humour and ability to turn everyday experiences into hilarious stories. His Because of Success tour brings his distinctive comedic style to audiences in Botswana for what promises to be an unforgettable evening of laughter. His success in comedy has been recognised through several awards. In 2012 and 2013, he won the Audience Choice Award at the South African Comics Choice Awards, reflecting his strong popularity with audiences. He has also been recognised as Best Indigenous Comedian at the South African Traditional Music Awards. He recently won the Joe Mafela Award, Best Solo Show Award in 2024 and was the Winners’ Choice Award (2025) at the South African Comics Choice Awards.
The Gaborone show will be hosted by Botswana comedian Thapelo Malani, making the evening particularly significant as it forms part of a series of events celebrating 10 years of Thapelo Malani’s comedy career. Malani began his comedy journey in August 2016, and over the past decade has established himself as a respected and inspirational figure within Botswana’s comedy scene. The celebration provides an opportunity to reflect on his journey, achievements and contribution to the growth of stand-up comedy in Botswana. He has also been hosted by Sifiso Nene several times in South Africa.
Adding to an already exciting line-up, the show will feature acclaimed upcoming female comedian Zoe Kgasa, bringing her unique perspective, personality and comedic energy to the stage. The combination of Sifiso Nene’s South African comedy pedigree, Thapelo Malani’s milestone celebration, and Zoe Kgasa’s performance promises audiences a diverse night of comedy featuring some of the region’s exciting comedic talent.
