Taazima Kala Awarded Prestigious Fellowship Of The CIPR

Taazima Kala, Botswana’s first ever Chartered PR Practitioner – and jointly the first in the SADC region – has been awarded Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). Fellowship represents the highest membership grade of the world’s only royally chartered body for public relations professionals. This achievement makes her the first CIPR Fellow from Botswana, and among the first in the region.

“Becoming a Fellow is a profound honour and a culmination of years of commitment to strengthening our profession. This recognition is not just personal; it affirms that the work and talent emerging from Botswana can shape the global future of public relations,” said Taazima.

The CIPR Fellowship is reserved for senior practitioners who have made an exceptional contribution to the industry and to the Institute. Fellows are recognised for their leadership, influence, and commitment to raising professional standards, influencing global practice and championing more inclusive, ethical communications.  

The Fellowship recognises Taazima’s outstanding and sustained contribution to the CIPR and to the advancement of the PR profession worldwide. This includes currently servicing as General Manager & Chief Consultant of leading communications consultancy Hotwire, as well as Chair of the CIPR International Committee, Group Chair Representative for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee, and EDI Champions Group Chair Representative.
