Stanbic Bank Botswana is excited to announce the successful infrastructural development of Jackalas No.1 Border Mall in Ramokgwebana, situated next to the Zimbabwe-Botswana border. This project was made possible through a partnership with Khumo Properties, Zambezi Motors and Stanbic Bank Botswana. The Bank continues to support local businesses in order to drive economic growth within the community it operates in.
The official opening of the mall was graced by key Government officials and stakeholders, including local authorities, and the mall owner, Dr. Ishmael Nshakazhogwe. Stanbic Bank Botswana was represented by Lesego Osman – Head Business & Commercial Banking; Chanda Mwila – Head of Business & Commercial Banking – Zambia; Kealeboga Mogodi – Head of Global Markets Sales – BCB & PPB; and Mpho Maswabi – Commercial Banking Relationship Manager.
Zambezi Motors, a 100% citizen-owned company which is under the visionary ownership of Dr. Nshakazhogwe and is part of the Zambezi Group of Companies. The company has been selling and servicing Peugeot, VW commercial vehicles, delivery vans, ambulances, and minibuses, as well as operating mobile repair shops. Additionally, Zambezi Motors holds distribution franchises for MAN Trucks and DAF Truck, offering comprehensive services and parts for all brands they deal with. Zambezi Motors has diversified its line of business and ventured into property portfolio management, acquiring residential and commercial properties in Gaborone and Francistown, just as has been done with Jackalas No. 1 Border Mall. These properties served as operational bases for various ventures that have since contributed further to the value chain in being leased to both businesses and individuals.

The newly opened mall also plays a pivotal role in transforming the local retail landscape, and serves not only the communities of Ramokgwebana, Jackalas No 1 & 2, Kgari, Butale, Moroka, Tshesebe, Senyawe, Mowana, Themashanga, and others on the Botswana side but also neighboring villages in Zimbabwe, such as Matabe and Plumtree.
