Stanbic Bank Botswana joined thousands of Batswana at the 2026 Mascom Batanani Walk, contributing P50,000 towards this year’s initiative and standing alongside partners working to create safer communities where children can grow and thrive.
Held under the theme “Step Up for Child Safety,” this year’s walk united the public and private sectors, civil society and members of the public behind a shared belief that protecting children is a responsibility that belongs to everyone.
For Stanbic Bank Botswana, supporting the initiative is a part of the broader belief that lasting growth is built long before economic outcomes are realised. It begins in communities where children are protected, families are supported and people have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
The sponsorship forms part of the Bank’s ongoing approach to creating shared value by supporting initiatives that strengthen the communities it serves. Guided by its purpose, Botswana is our home, we drive her growth, the Bank continues to champion partnerships that contribute to Botswana’s long-term social and economic progress.
Speaking on Stanbic Bank Botswana’s participation in the initiative, Stanbic Bank Chief Executive Chose Modise said the Bank’s involvement reflects its belief that building a stronger Botswana requires collective action across sectors.
“Every thriving economy is built on strong foundations, and those foundations are people. When children grow up in safe environments, they are better able to learn, realise their potential and contribute meaningfully to the country’s future. Supporting the Mascom Batanani Walk this year means we are standing with communities to help create those conditions because driving Botswana’s growth starts with investing in the wellbeing of its people.”
Now in its eighth edition, the Mascom Batanani Walk continues to bring national attention to issues that shape the wellbeing of Botswana’s communities. This year’s focus on child safety speaks to a broader responsibility shared by all sectors of society, of creating an environment where the next generation can grow with confidence, opportunity and support.to thrive.
Stanbic Bank Botswana believes partnerships remain essential to addressing complex social challenges. Through collaboration with organisations that share its vision for a stronger Botswana, the Bank continues to bring its Kgolo Strategy to life by supporting initiatives that create lasting value for communities.
“Our Kgolo Strategy challenges us to think beyond traditional measures of growth. Growth is in the opportunities we create and the communities we strengthen. Supporting initiatives that protect children is part of that growth story because Botswana’s future depends on the wellbeing of the next generation,” Modise added.
The Bank extends its appreciation to Mascom Wireless, organisers, partners, volunteers and every participant who took part in this year’s walk. Their collective effort reinforces the importance of protecting children and building communities where every Motswana has the opportunity to thrive.
