Maun Means Green Business

Maun is preparing to host a gathering with ambitions larger than its three-day diary.

From 21-23 October, Botswana Sustainability Week returns for its fourth edition at Sedia Hotel, inviting business to roll up its sleeves and help shape the country’s next growth chapter.

For us at Botswana Unplugged, the appeal lies in the promise of practical progress: turning worthy pledges into funded projects, stronger communities and livelihoods that endure.

Twenty chief executives and managing directors are set to join the Botswana Sustainability & ESG Private Sector Roundtable, undertaking three years of leadership with annual progress reporting.

The agenda brings finance, tourism, energy and industry into the same conversation, exploring how Botswana’s natural wealth can support lasting prosperity.

There is substance behind the ambition. Organisers pledge to direct 25% of every partnership package towards collaborative impact projects during 2026-2027.

Among the proposed legacy initiatives are the One Million Tree Campaign, solar-powered community water standpipes in Ngamiland, and projects supporting food security, resilience and energy access.

A splendid prospect, certainly. Yet the true measure will come after the delegates depart: investments secured, projects delivered and communities better served.

Maun’s invitation is clear: bring ideas, bring partnerships, and bring the resolve to act.
