Thriller performances are expected from the star-studded and multi-talented first-time performers. Music’s greatest night will feature grand performances by Dato Saiko, La Tonde and Names, Khoisan, Ndeya Boys (Flyboi Que, Jordan Moozy and Luther October) and William Last KRM. The hosts of this unrivalled event will be hosted by the dynamic duo that is MduThaParty and Kedu Molosiwa. A richer and more diverse lineup has never been compiled for the YAMAS.
Due to the COVID- 19 protocols, the event will not be consisting of a live audience rather it will only be screened on DSTV Channel 219 Now TV and Yarona FM Facebook page.
“We are excited to bring Batswana the 7th annual YAMAS, the national hub of the music world where rhythm and entertainment are intertwined. We have one of the best line up which will keep the audience on their feet. We have also managed to partner with different stakeholders that will be live-streaming the event so that it reaches out to everyone across the globe,” said Yarona FM Station Manager, Kelly Ramputswa-Tlale.
“The well-being of our performing artists, industry partners, technical staff, and valued partners is of the highest importance to us. Therefore, we will work closely with qualified occupational health and safety officers and medical personnel to ensure that all COVID-19 procedures are implemented to the very best of our ability. We are wholly dedicated to making sure no one’s health and safety is compromised due to this event,” Kelly emphasized.
The “YAMAS” are the year’s biggest celebration of music. There are 15 categories voted for by the public and two special awards decided by the YAMAs team making it a total of 17 awards. All winners will not only get an award, but they will also get prize money ranging from P10, 000 to P60, 000. However, voting lines for these awards were officially closed on Monday 6th September except for the signature award, which is the People’s Choice Artist of the Year award category will remain open until the awards night at 2100hrs on the 25th of September.
