Stanbic Bank Botswana Appoints Morufhi Masikara As Head Of Corporate & Investment Banking

Stanbic Bank Botswana continues to cement the caliber and depth of talent of its leadership team. The Bank is pleased to appoint Ms. Morufhi Masikara to lead its Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) segment. Masikara, as Head of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), will also serve as part of the Bank’s Country Leadership Committee (CLC). 

As Head of CIB, Masikara will set the direction of this business unit, define the parameters for success and work towards achieving overall business goals and objectives in this crucial segment of the business, leading the fast moving entrepreneurial, specialised, multi-functional CIB team to be more competitive and enhance its position in the marketplace.

Masikara has in excess of 16 years in the corporate world. She holds an undergraduate Bachelor of Commerce Degree and further pursued an Honours Degree in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management both from the University of Cape Town. She additionally holds a Master’s Degree in Development Finance from Stellenbosch Business School. Masikara joined Standard Bank Group (SA) in 2007 as a graduate trainee and fulfilled various roles at Group level including Business Manager: Head (Africa) Transactional Products and Services, Group Risk Manager and Investment Banking Manager until 2014 when she relocated to Botswana on appointment to Investment Banking at Stanbic Bank Botswana.  

In 2018, she was appointed on a 2-year secondment with the Investment Banking team in Namibia, where she was responsible for driving origination and supporting execution across Real Estate Finance, Debt Primary Markets and Corporate Financing Solutions. In November 2020, Masikara was appointed Head of Client Coverage, a role that she successfully executed until October 2022 when she was appointed as an Interim Head of CIB.
