Last Friday Comedy is Back!

Major Moves Comedy is back with yet another rib cracking lineup for their monthly standup comedy events this November. Last Friday Comedy which has been successfully happening previously every First Friday is back with a bang at Cresta President Hotel after being suspended because of the corona pandemic. Following the easing of restrictions, the audience will be treated to too much hilarity and great silliness from a variety of comics as they take to the stage on Friday the 26th of November.

The amusing and funny lineup will feature top local comedians for the first event post lock down. The stellar lineup that has resident host Onkgopotse ‘Mdala Ka Tjeludo’ Mugende will be headlined by Boniface ‘Roydean’ Phetolo and feature humorous comedy from Queen of comedy Malebogo ‘Lebo English’ Lekgowa, Maatla Ephraim Basha, Thapelo Malani and Ndiye ‘Triccs’ Tampa.

The event will also bring upcoming comedians to the forefront as new comedians will be introduced and given a chance to share stage with
these established acts. Events coordinator for Major Moves Comedy Mr Gaolathe Kediemetse said, “Since lock down comedians have been longing to showcase their talent on stage.

With the new normal most have used different social media platforms, however for stand up comedians the stage is still the best place for them to showcase. With these monthly events we also develop and nurture talent especially those who have been active on social media in our quest to create a sustainable market and monetizing the talent.” Headliner Roydean who has performed in eSwatini, Lesotho, Namibia and South Africa will in December embark on a charity walk from Gaborone to Mmathubudukwane in an effort to give to the needy. He will be accompanied by fellow comedians for the 100km walk that will start in the afternoon of the 17th December until the next morning where he will present the donations at Mmathubudukwane kgotla. Proceeds from Last Friday Comedy will be used towards this noble cause as a way of giving back to the community.

The event will follow all the Covid-19 regulations as prescribed by the Presidential Covid- 19 Task Force Team. “We are excited to be hosting the event under the new normal and will be following the Covid-19 regulations. We have limited tickets available for the event and we will have a dedicated Safety Officer to ensure the regulations are being followed.

We want to develop and contribute positively to lives of the comedians while protecting the health of our patrons”, added Mr Kediemetse. The venue sponsor is Cresta President Hotel and tickets are available at Webtickets & Spar outlets priced from P200 single and P300 double. The show starts at 8pm.
