The streets of Gaborone were alive with rhythm as the 2nd Red Bull Dance Your Style Botswana National Final brought together the country’s most talented street dancers for an afternoon of jaw-dropping freestyle battles at the Molapo Crossing Piazza this past Saturday, 16 August. With the crowd as the ultimate judge, energy levels were sky-high from the first beat to the final showdown.

Hundreds of fans filled the venue, creating an atmosphere charged with excitement, cheering, chanting, and voting for their favourites in true Red Bull Dance Your Style fashion. The lineup was just as spectacular, featuring performances from Nasty C, Jazzworx & Thukuthela and much more… ensuring the crowd was entertained from start to finish.

Main highlights of the event were:

  • Crowd energy: Fans turned up in their numbers, bringing unmatched vibes that set the stage alight.
  • Epic battles: Dancers brought their A-game across genres – from hip hop to amapiano – leaving the crowd gasping and grooving.
  • Special appearances: Live sets from renowned DJs and a show-stopping performance by Nasty C kept the crowd on its feet.
  • Unforgettable moments: The final round had the crowd on edge as the battle for the crown reached its climax.

After an electrifying showdown, Malebogo “Lebo M” Mabifhi was crowned Botswana’s Red Bull Dance Your Style 2025 Champion. She will now represent Botswana on the world stage at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final in Los Angeles this October, where she’ll battle dancers from across the globe.

“This win is a dream come true. I put my heart and soul into this journey, and to see it payoff is incredible. Now I’m excited to grow, connect with dancers from around the world, and inspire the next generation, especially the kids coming up with so much fire,” said Malebogo “Lebo M” Mabifhi.

“This year’s energy was insane!” says Moroen Lebowa, MC and creative partner of Red Bull. “This competition is more than just a dance battle – it’s a celebration of Botswana’s creative pulse. For the past couple of weeks during the qualifiers we saw the wealth of talent in our youth. Every dancer brought their story to the stage, and the crowd brought the fire. I am confident that we are sending a powerhouse to Los Angeles, and we thank Red Bull for bringing these vibes and shining a light on young talent in Botswana.”

This year’s final proved that Botswana’s street dance scene is stronger than ever, with talent ready to take on the world.
