Another hassle-free financial solutions for Batswana from Orange Money

  • Orange Money continues to contribute positively towards Botswana’s financial landscape with inclusion at heart
  • Development of the online solution for money transfer into Orange Money accounts comes off the back of high customer demand

Gaborone, Botswana — In a continued effort to further develop electronic payment services in Botswana and help bridge the gap between the banked, under-banked and the unbanked, Orange Money has launched the much-awaited and demanded Card-To-Wallet service; enabling customers to transfer money online from any bank account to an Orange Money wallet. This solution will enable seamless financial transactions between the formal banking environment and that of Orange Money, providing Batswana with an inclusive solution that provides ‘24/7 convenience’ especially during the movement restrictions of the current pandemic.

Said Chief Executive Officer of Orange Money, Mr. Seabelo Pilane, “We are now living in trying times during this era of COVID-19 where keeping distance has become the norm; we are consciously and purposefully developing solutions to get Orange Money customers closer than ever to their funds. Our Card-To-Wallet service is accessible via our online portal, making it easy for Batswana to transfer funds anytime into their Orange Money accounts, or to do the same for their loved ones as support especially during these uncertain times.”

Orange Money Card-To-Wallet is available to all Orange Botswana customers with bank accounts, enabling them to instantly send money to any Orange Money wallet regardless of who they bank with; all users are required to register and complete the Know Your Customer (KYC) details online in order to start using the service. The sender does not need to have an Orange Money account; they are only required to have a registered Orange sim card, while the recipient needs an Orange Money wallet. With Card-To-Wallet, registered customers can transact as little as P10 up to P9,500…it is a safe, reliable and real-time service available at the touch of a finger. To use this service, Orange customers can register and transact on the Orange Botswana website on www.orange.co.bw and click on ‘Orange Online’.

“This service affirms our commitment towards contributing positively to the growth of the informal and financial services sectors. The introduction of Card-To-Wallet aligns with our financial inclusion strategy centered around providing relevant and convenient solutions that address our customers’ every day needs, as well as addressing our priorities around placing our customers first!,” concluded Pilane.
