Stanbic Bank Botswana AcceleR8 collaborates with Girls 4 Girls to expand community leadership skills for young women
GABORONE – Stanbic Bank Botswana remains resolute in identifying ways in which the Bank can support initiatives that provide relevant and impactful difference in the communities they serve. The Bank’s flagship youth entrepreneurship hub, AcceleR8, will host the renowned Girls 4 Girls program from January to March 2021 in an effort to promote the mentorship and community leadership training of young women.

Said, Stanbic Bank Botswana Head of AcceleR8, Larona Makgoeng, “We are proud to host the Girls 4 Girls program for the first time in Botswana and recognise the tremendous role this platform plays in nurturing young women into the future leaders of our community. As a Bank, we fervently believe that we need to come together to uplift the girl child and work even harder to ensure that gender parity becomes a reality in our lifetime.”

Through virtual and in-person discussions, the Girls 4 Girls program invites female leaders to share their stories of personal growth and development, in order to inspire, motivate and encourage the mentees. The sessions also provide educational content on key issues facing the next generation of public leaders such as health, climate change, poverty, and gender inequality.
Said, Girls 4 Girls Program Manager, Lillian Moremi, “Our Theory of Change is for young women to cultivate the capacity to lead, they need access to a nurturing and supportive environment. By bringing girls together within and across cultures we can build confidence, courage and curiosity. Through mentorship and community building we can unleash the potential of young women and grow the pipeline of women in public leadership.”
