The song comes from his debut album “Pure Heart” and it being titled sebenza meaning work in isiXhosa, it aims to motivate people that are hustling to achieve their dreams and put bread on their tables. |
Kila G goes on to elaborate and say that if you put in the work, it is only a matter of time before you reap what you sow. The music video which was shot by Kay Mani Productions during Kila G’s Johannesburg tour in October 2020 shows Kila G exploring places such as Boksburg and him performing in Maboneng. The scenes portray Kila G in his various stages of work with shots of him during photo shoots, meeting with fans and writing music.Kila G in the streets of MabonengKila G is a Cape Town born singer/songwriter who has been writing and recording music for the past two years. H first projects is an EP titled “Stone Age” which introduced him as the elegant artist he is. His debut album “Pure Heart” was released a year later and has various collaborations with local artist and producers. The production for “Sebenza” was done by Syre and is reminiscent of early South African pop songs such as Jabu Khanyile’s “Sponky Ponky”. “Sebenza” music video is available on YouTube and the song can be found on the “Pure Heart” album which is available on all major streaming platforms.
