Molepolole, Botswana – Coca Cola Foundation has donated P600,000 to the Botswana Red Cross Society for COVID 19- response in Kweneng West.
The Botswana Red Cross Society in partnership with The Coca Cola Foundation will support vulnerable communities in the Kweneng West District as part of COVID-19 response. The project will entail assisting 500 vulnerable people with food, hygiene packs and water supply at house-hold level.
It is against this background that Botswana Red Cross Society will implement a project with financial support from The Coca Cola Foundation. This project aims to mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 on food security, water and hygiene commodities supply at household level. Botswana Red Cross Society will donate hygiene packs to the selected community members.
The hygiene packages will enhance the ability of vulnerable populations to comply with critical preventative hygiene protocols such as regular hand washing with soap and keeping clean households.
The food and hygiene packages relief is projected to be distributed to 100 households in Kweneng District over a period of two months. A household in Botswana is constituted of an average of 05 people therefore the relief packages is envisaged to benefit over 500 people.
