MultiChoice Botswana launches home delivery service

GABORONE, Botswana, May 2020/ — As a responsible corporate citizen, MultiChoice Botswana is committed to playing its part in adhering to the government’s national safety precautions and COVID-19 measures. 

One of those guidelines is safety first! MultiChoice understands that social distancing, school closures and the ongoing national lockdown mean spending a lot more time at home with the family. Customers considering satellite TV but concerned about how to physically purchase a decoder and the safety of having an installation done, can be reassured that MultiChoice Botswana has prioritised the health and safety of its employees throughout the business. 

“These extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures, so we have adopted new ways of working to keep our people safe and to keep our service to our customers on track,” says MultiChoice Botswana Acting MD, Lorato Mwape. “MultiChoice Botswana is excited to announce that we have launched a Home Delivery service which allows customers to order and purchase a DStv decoder using WhatsApp Self-Service lines. The Home Delivery Service includes installation and immediate activation of a customer’s DStv account, all within strict safety guidelines.”

MultiChoice Botswana has implemented sanitary processes as recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to help accredited installers step up their hand, respiratory and personal hygiene. This includes issuing installers with alcohol-based hand sanitiser, masks, and disposable gloves as well as educating them on the importance of correct hand washing and social distancing.

This is vital, as installers work in customers’ homes. This approach to installer safety at this time is just another reason why all new DStv customers are advised to only use accredited installers. The safety precautions taken by unaccredited installers cannot be verified.

“As we always put our customers and their needs at the heart of everything we do, we’re making it easier for them to adhere to the measures put in place by the Government of Botswana to protect us all,” said Mwape. “We are aware of how important it is to have access to television at this time. Alongside keeping us and our families entertained whilst we abide by the social distancing guidelines, it is also our source of news and information around the government’s fight against COVID-19. As Batswana adjust to new ways of living, the Home Delivery Service allows us to continue being their constant companion wherever they are, whilst keeping them safe and adding to the convenience we know they desire.”

Residents in the greater Gaborone area can place their decoder orders by sending their requests to a dedicated Home Delivery WhatsApp Lines on 73043674 and 73043676 and on 74710346 for residents in the greater Francistown area.
