GABORONE, Botswana, February 2020 – Wilderness Safaris has officially opened its new lounge at Victoria Falls Airport in Zimbabwe. Designed as a place of comfort for Wilderness Safaris guests waiting to connect to their camps or other areas with Wilderness Air, the lounge comprises an air-conditioned indoor area with relaxing chairs and sofas, tablets and Wi-Fi. There is also a beautiful indigenous garden in the atrium where guests can sit by the attractive water feature and soak up the sun while waiting for their flights.
According to Wilderness Air GM for the Zambezi region, Tawanda Maruza, “The opening of our new airport lounge reflects our unwavering commitment to providing our guests with the best experience and service possible. Not only does the lounge and atrium garden comfortably host up to 16 people, it offers our guests a peaceful environment in which to relax, enjoy a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and watch a range of educational videos, or charge their cameras and other equipment, while catching up on emails and connecting with friends and family back home”.
As the proud air partner of Wilderness Safaris, Wilderness Air is privileged to fly into some of the most pristine wilderness areas in the world. Since it began operating in 1991, the company has maintained a reputation for steadfast operations and excellent guest service.
“We believe that flying is an integral part of each guest’s travel experience, and that our pilots’ passion and professionalism can make a genuine contribution to journeys that change lives”, adds Tawanda. “In Zimbabwe, our operational base is situated in Victoria Falls, with most of our operations taking place in the zones bounded by Harare, Mana Pools in the lower Zambezi, Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park. Although we primarily service camps owned and operated by Wilderness Safaris, we are pleased to offer our guests sole-use charter services as well”.
Wilderness Air Zimbabwe is committed to Wilderness Safaris’ vision and sustainability values, actively seeking to reduce its carbon footprint through the development of a more efficient daily flying circuit to Wilderness Safaris camps and a few select partner lodges, optimizing each aircraft’s movements while connecting guests to the wilderness.
