GABORONE, Botswana, August 8, 2019 – Given the warm reception in the inaugural year, the much-anticipated “Shell FuelSave Media Challenge” is back for the second year running. In an endeavour to demonstrate the economic benefit of Shell FuelSave fuel, Vivo Energy Botswana has invited the media fraternity and some industry partners to another guided road trip, dubbed the “Shell FuelSave Media Challenge.”
Members of the local media will go head to head in a bid to see which team will use the least amount of fuel on the trip. http://botswanaunplugged.com/10823/shell-fuel-save-media-challenge-gets-underway/
“This is a platform for Vivo Energy Botswana to educate our media partners about our products and our road safety mandate, while continuing to cultivate our relationship with the media fraternity. Vivo Energy Botswana continues to be a champion of the road safety cause and takes every opportunity to initiate and support road safety efforts. The media challenge is one such initiative where we will share safe driving tips with our valued partners, for them to continue to echo the message to our customers,” said Vivo Energy Botswana Managing Director, Wayne Kingwill.
Other than leaving the event with smiles and more knowledge about Vivo Energy at the last challenge, a couple of teams just like last year’s challenge will walk away a few thousand Pulas richer.
The first prize teams last year walked away with P10, 000 plus P10, 000 for a charity of their choice. Second and third prize winners got P5, 000 and P2, 500 respectively, while the best dressed and most interactive team on social media walked away with P2, 500 each. This year the challenge is bigger and better with bumped up prizes; first prize – P15, 000, Second prize – P10, 000 and P5, 000 for the third position. Teams are encouraged to come looking their best, as there is another prize for best dressed as well as the most interactive on social media.
“As Vivo Energy Botswana, we are taking this opportunity to engage and interact with our stakeholders while highlighting the use of our Shell products to meet our customers’ unique driving needs. We want to encourage safe behaviours on the road. The challenge is not about displaying the fastest drivers but instead using less fuel by adopting the right driving style and behaviour on the roads. We are affording our media partners a platform to experience our products first hand,” added Kingwill.
Vivo Energy Botswana will continue to share fuel saving and safe driving tips for customers to be able to enjoy the benefits of using Shell FuelSave. Shell FuelSave is a brand that makes customers feel good about spending their money wisely, while encouraging them to drive smart.
