Rail Park Mall recognizes Botswana’s creative industry, jointly sponsors Arts Performance Night with AFDA

Gaborone, BOTSWANA, May 03, 2019:  Rail Park Mall, which offers a one-stop, family-friendly and easily accessible shopping experience in Gaborone and usually known as a hotspot for young and old shopping enthusiasts will today (May 3, 2019) host an Arts Performance Night aimed at raising the profile of Botswana’s diverse artistic talents.

Slated for Friday evening, May 3, 2019 evening, between 19h00 – 22h00, Rail Park Mall’s food court area will be a gathering place for a slightly different group of people – Botswana’s creatives ranging from poets, musicians, dancers and storytellers.

Hosted in collaboration with AFDA Botswana (AFDA BW College) – a FILM, TV & Live Performance school, the Arts Performance Night is a platform where all art forms will be blended to cater for all art lovers featuring Gauta Eyman, Fifi Afrika and Amogelang Moatlhaping just to name a few.

“This event is a first of its kind at Rail Park Mall and therefore the success of the upcoming event will guide us in deciding whether we will host it again next year. Our partnership with AFDA was simply inspired by the fact that the school continues to contribute significantly to the creative industry both locally and internationally. This event is about engaging young, fresh artists who are making their mark in the industry and assisting them to put their art our there even more,” said Keletso Sebogodi, Rail Park Mall Marketing Executive.

For her part, Rail Park Mall Centre Manager, Bonyana Masu said Rail Park Mall’s aim is to start small and see how it can grow, so that a bigger platform can be created for more artists to be engaged and to make a sustainable living out of their talents.

The Rail Park Mall Arts Performance Night will see  performances by  Gauta Eyman, Fifi Afrika, Amogelang Moatlhaping, Lame Pusetso, Anthony Molosi, BNGDA Youth Orchestra, 2 Change Movement and many more who will spice up the day’s activities.

Masu noted that their partnership with AFDA as an Arts school will come in handy in making sure that the event looks artistic especially that they will be providing technical support and publicity, including performances and live streaming of the event on their sister company Maru TV.

Rail Park Mall has successfully maintained its position as Botswana’s favourite destination mall for over eight years now, and throughout the year the mall hosts various activation events driven by the loyalty of its patrons.
