Jay Jay Okocha is the third football star brought to Botswana by Barclays Bank in recent times after Robbie Fowler. The Nigerian soccer legend is former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He was truly a quick and skilful playmaker, who is widely regarded as the best player of his generation and one of the greatest African players of all time. Okocha was known for his confidence with the ball, technique, creativity, and dribbling skills, as well as his use of feints, in particular the step over.

Barclays Bank of Botswana Managing Director, Reinette van der Merwe this afternoon said, “the EPL sponsorship offers us an incredible and unique opportunity to engage with both our current and potential customers and cement our credentials as an African bank with global reach”. The MD noted that as such Barclays will be running a Switch campaign which, is giving both current and new customers a chance to win a trip to the United Kingdom (UK) to watch a live premier league match in May 2019.
