Bonang Matheba exclusive on Being Bonang

Tonight DStv viewers in Botswana and across the continent will get to see a different side to Bonang Matheba when her reality show airs for the first time. Born in Mafikeng on June 25, 1987; the 30-year-old television personality, radio host and businesswoman and brand ambassador for Revlon Cosmetics South Africa could not hide her excitement and nervousness ahead of her reality TV show; Being Bonang which premieres on Vuzu Amp this Friday (tonight) at 7. 30pm.

Ahead of the highly-anticipated debut of the show, #BotswanaUnplugged this morning had an exclusive one-on-one interview with the multi-award winning South African personality who revealed that the show will give viewers and fans alike a candid glimpse into the realities of her everyday life; ranging from friends to family and herself as well as her many business pursuits.

“I’m actually very nervous and excited at the same time and I can only hope people get to enjoy the show. This show is aptly giving people a chance to know me. Being Bonang comes at the right time as I have just also recently released my first book dubbed From A to B. The book will be available at Exclusive Books from next week,” said Bonang.

“The show has so much entertaining elements and will give viewers a little bit of everything about my daily life and my life story. As the co-executive producer of this show through my own company Bonang Matheba Entertainment, this is a great achievement for me. I hope viewers get to appreciate my story telling talents too. I’m happy to have worked with the king of reality TV shows in South Africa; Nkululeko Legend Manqele of Bar Leader, a respected, appreciated and incredible producer.”

Being Bonang season one is produced by TheBarleader.TV alongside Bonang Matheba as Co-Executive Producer, and will broadcast on VUZU AMP at 7.30pm tonight.

Matheba, popularly known as Queen B added that Being Bonang is one of the greatest highlights of her career thus far despite her having been involved in various TV productions for the past three years.

Asked when her Batswana fans can get to interact with her bubbly personality regarding both the TV show and book, Bonang said she will soon embark on an Africa tour including Botswana, Swaziland just to name a few.

“I will absolutely be going around the continent to promote my book; From A to B, and all I can say is watch this space Botswana, Queen B will be in your space sooner than you may think.”

‘Being Bonang’ premieres on Vuzu Amp this Friday (July 14) at 17:30 CAT with a repeat on Monday at 19:30 CAT. The show will feature Bonang in her day to day business interactions alongside manager Jay Badza, snippets of her romance with AKA, her very close bond with her mom, the interwoven and often exhilarating relationship with her cousin Tebogo “Pinky Girl” Mekgwe, and good times with her friend Lorna Maseko.

The production will also highlight how the now, more well-rounded, more successful Bonang has transcended beyond her ‘it girl’ status, with a successful radio show, massive public persona, and thriving MC career.

Bonang is finally at a point in her life where she’s comfortable to give her fans a glimpse of what they’ve been so eagerly anticipating. Viewers will see her outright versatility: juggling business success with family, romance, and all out stardom, and for the first time DStv customers will get to see Bonang; the daughter, the entrepreneur, the lover, and the confidant.
