GABORONE, Botswana, August 2019 – Theatre enthusiasts will be happy to learn that “Broke, Broken and Alone” theatre production which left the audience asking for more courtesy of its resounding success at the 2019 Maitisong Festival is coming back this weekend by popular demand.
A: tiste Ah’syl’ahm (pronounced Artist Asylum) (PTY) LTD and Luminous Art BW, in partnership with Maitisong, invite all interested theatre enthusiasts and art lovers to come and enjoy the performance of the season.
“Broke, Broken and Alone” – is a theatre play directed by Muvhango star Kabo “Sir Kabulous” Timela, which will be showcased in two performances at Maitisong as follows: Saturday, 24th August at 7pm and Sunday, 25th August at 3pm.
“Featured at the 2019 Maitisong Festival and brought back by popular demand, Broke, Broken and Alone is set to be an unforgettable experience as it seeks to proudly highlight some of the best theatres Botswana has to offer.”
Here’s a brief synopsis: “In a city where men with money make all the rules, a young ambitious, streetwise businessman seems to finally be getting it all – a fast ascend up the corporate ladder, the hand in marriage to the daughter of a real estate tycoon and all the perks that come with it. Until a ghost from his past, his ex-lover, unexpectedly shows up at his door step: Dleng Dleng… Broke, Broken & Alone is a contemporary fusion of stage and film speckled with colourful music and dance.”
