GABORONE; – – / Whiskey connoisseurs will be happy to learn that the capital city, Gaborone will next come alive courtesy of the first instalment of the Gaborone International Whiskey Tasting Festival aptly tagged #GIWTF.
According to the organisers, the vibrant whiskey affair will take place on November 24 at Game City Mall, The New Horizon View from 6pm until 12 midnight where whiskey and spirits aficionados are set to relax, mingle and have richly-inspired conversations over a few tipples. The affair will boast around 60 different whiskey brands where attendees will take turns shifting from one brand to the other tasting and experiencing only the finest of brands against a backdrop of an artsy atmosphere.
Born out of passion for fine whiskey and spirits, the GIWTF is the essence celebration of whisky, conveying premium whiskies around the world. “The festival brings the first whiskey tasting festival to Botswana that puts many types of whiskeys in front of consumers, media and trade. The festival will foster a broader and deeper appreciation of whiskey and its complexities by connecting consumers and brands through curated experiences.”
Furthermore, the festival aims to offer whiskey enthusiasts from connoisseur to novice an opportunity to learn and explore a variety of whiskeys as well as give consumers a range of different styles and personalities of whiskeys. “It will also include culinary pairings that delights, inspire and connects. An art gallery will be set up to promote visual arts in Botswana.”
Tickets to the events sell for P500 and that include complimentary tasting glass, a bottle of water and tasting coupons.
