THE UNPLUGGED CELEBRITY CRUSH! – Nnunu Ramogotsi

Nnunu Ramogotsi is a Jazz artist par excellence. Born in Ramotswa many moons ago, Ramogotsi is undoubtedly one of Botswana’s finest voices. A seasoned Jazz artist of note with a career spanning well over 15 years, Ramogotsi who goes by the moniker ‘Africa’s Jewel’ has had the pleasure of working with the likes of Jean Michel Byron – the lead singer of the popular American rock band, TOTO.

Her debut album titled ‘MMASONOKO’ was widely received across the country and abroad. Ramogotsi has in the past performed alongside Ringo Madlingozi as a member of Women of Jazz Botswana and the greatest highlight in her musical career was sharing the stage with the Bulawayo-born and South African legendary Jazz artist, Dorothy Masuka. Today, as we introduce our brand new feature, we present this artistic Botswana songbird whose musical aptitude continues to grow in an astonishing crescendo…

What do you like doing in your spare time?

By inviting me to a special place near some water with a calm and soothing breeze, either a pool or sea.

What’s your annoying habit?

At times I lose concentration in long and boring conversations.

Do you ever get used to being a celebrity?

Yes, and very much so, maybe because of my down-to-earth personality.

Who is your inspiration?

People who work hard to attain their goals despite all stumbling blocks.

Do you speak any other languages?

Yes, I do. Mandarin Chinese, (wode míngzì shī Zi Qí)

Rome, Italy’s capital.

As a true and admirable inspirational figure, life changer and peace maker.

What is one message you would give to your fans?

Learn to love the people around you. It is the biggest secret to getting closer and being truly loved by the Creator. Also, please find my music online and continue to support your own. We are what we are because of all the unwavering support we get from you. Thank you!
