Veteran Botswana model, Julie Tsile of Juice Promotions Model Management is over the moon to see her long-time dream of becoming the go-to model agency of choice becoming true. The tall and lanky model continues to collaborate with international modelling agencies around the world which sees her exporting bespoke models under her camp. The latest belle under her wing to clinch a coveted international gig is none other than Gaone Mooketsi who is currently attached to 28 Model in New York, USA.
According to Tsile, 28 Model is a New York-based Modelling Management Company which caters to both male and female models. “We are focused on a more professional environment with specialties in nurturing our talent from the development stages to career management. We offer the highest quality of representation while priding ourselves in discovering and developing the best new talent in the Metropolitan New York City areas and internationally.”
Tsile came back to Botswana in 2016 after a long stint in Cape Town, South Africa where she was based and excelled in various modelling gigs whilst staying with her family until the untimely demise of her husband. Upon coming back home, Tsile said she realized that Batswana models equally have talent and this motivated her to establish her own agency, using her experiences over years to nurture new talents and export them into different brands, fashion shows and endorsements.
“I started running the agency in 2016 when I moved back home from Cape Town. I have been modelling for 15 years now, so I have made a lot of connections and networking with international clients throughout these years. Juice Promotions Model Management is a mother agency to the models signed in Botswana and we collaborate with ISIS models agency in South Africa, where we place the models to be represented in South Africa,” she added.
Meanwhile, Mooketsi who is already in New York told #BotswanaUnplugged that she has been well received and his superiors are happy with her progress thus far despite debuting in a bigger league of her budding career. “I have met quite a number of casting agents who really loved how I look, the one thing they found unique about me was my walk. I have always been told it’s amazing and unique. Beside my work, New York is really amazing, people here appreciate models so much. I have met quite a number of people who are so excited to meet a model from Botswana. I feel I belong here, in New York, and I am living my dream exactly how I wanted,” said Mooketsi.
Mooketsi spoke highly of her new home at 28 Model citing they specifically pick and work with a model based on a certain criterion for a specific brand. “They ensure that the chosen model has a look that will sell her to casting agents. They ensure the model dresses in a stylish and chic way that clients will find fashionable.” Furthermore, she said, “This agency has taught me so much in the shortest time. Every day I am a model, wherever I am I have to ensure I look good, dressed stylish and poised because the world is watching and I want to book shows and work with international brands which will put me out there for the world to know Gaone Pearl Mooketsi and grow me as an international model,” she concluded.
