The biggest old school music party of the year, the 70s and 80s Disco Party is back with a bang and is slated for the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) next month. Being the biggest oldies music party in the country attracting +-1300 mature audiences annually who attend and experience music of yesteryears, the gig scheduled for June 15, 2018 will feature a few renowned DJs from both South Africa and Botswana.
“This is a purely a lifestyle event and our primary audience is young and mature professionals. This is a one-day lifestyle get together; the music, the colourful drinks, the ambience, the costumes, the audience and the décor setup will be part of the recipe, creating an environment suitable for the theme,” said Vince Swift Mosimanewakgang, Operations Director at Urban Motion Communications Group.
Mosimanewakgang said the event presents seven renowned DJs who will throughout the night dish out the most sought after songs that “we grew up listening to”.
“This is one particular event that brings back the golden oldies memories into our modern day lives and we carefully selected the DJs based on the popularity and their technical prowess when it comes to mixing and blending songs. We are confident that the audience will be wowed and given value for their money,” added Mosimanewakgang.
Already on the roster and acts that have already agreed to showcase their skills on the colourful night include Oskido, Otis Fraser, DJ Bax, DJ Sid, DJ Peter T, Shaft People and DJ Lefatshe.
Last year, the do predominantly attracted the elderly folks who came dressed to the nines as they party down a musical storm courtesy of DJ Glen Lewis, Daddy Ski, Douglas Mosadi, DJ Jazzy Dee, Stomps, and Choto among others.
The festivity is a one-night only lifestyle blast where music and fashion of yesteryears meets. Tickets for the show are sold at the Grand Palm reception and Computicket.
