Adrenaline junkies and aviation diehards alike will on May 26th invade the much anticipated Wesbank International Air show, which will be held at Rasesa’s Matsieng Aerodrome. Organized by the Matsieng Trust in partnership with WesBank Botswana, the show promises to live up to great expectations as it is not only about having a tremendous day of fun and excitement for aviation enthusiasts all over Southern Africa but all the proceeds, after accounting for all costs of presenting the event, is donated to local charities and worthy social institutions.
“We have witnessed this show’s popularity grow throughout the years and it is a project that is very close to us, not only because of the fun and excitement that it brings to attendees but because this is part of our giving back to society. Some of the proceeds of the event will be donated to various charities,” said Director of WesBank, Kgopodiso Justine Basiami. Furthermore, Basiame added that the air show also plays a pivotal role in economic diversification by promoting domestic and international tourism.
“For the various businesses, the airshow offers a unique opportunity to cross promote and network with like-minded businesses. Small and medium enterprises have the opportunity to sell their products and services at the airshow stalls. The more the public is exposed to these endeavors the quicker they realize opportunities that exist in the industry. For the youth, we hope that this will continue to stimulate their interest in aviation and some will even consider aviation as a critical career option.”
With the likes of Boeing Stearman, Raptors RV, Team X-treme, Albatross Jet and Little Annie, the day will be filled with heart stopping adrenaline moments. Revelers can also look forward to seeing Botswana`s Model Aircraft and the Skydive parachute drop team in action amongst other exhilarating performances. Experienced pilots will also take to the skies to mesmerize attendees with their jaw dropping stunts.
“This event caters for the whole family with tickets costing P120 for adults, P60 for children and free for children under 5 years (accompanied by an adult).Tickets can be purchased at selected Puma stations and all Computickets.”
